Hi Bill, I sent for Pearl's and Luther's death certificates just before Thanksgiving. I am still awaiting the arrival of the documents. I am not 100% certain that my Pearl Alma TRUITT HIATT was the Pearl married to Luther Owen HIATT. While I suspect that I have accurately assessed the relationship, I have been in contact with some of Luther's relatives and they did not have enough info to be certain either. So my search continues. Tell me more about your branch of the HYATT/HIATT family. Do you have a direct relationship to Amos HIATT or Ida PICKENS (Luther's parents)? I am related to Pearl. Pearl Alma TRUITT was my grandmother's half sister. They shared the same father. Pearl's mother, Katherine HARE, most likely died during or after childbirth but I have not yet found that evidence. My grandmother's mother was a CROUCH. I am also in contact with Pearl's niece. She tells me that Pearl did not have any children and that Pearl was widowed before her niece was born.
