BACK TRACKING THE HAWTHORNES COMPILED BY JERRY HAWTHORNE Orders are now being taken for reprints of this 833 pg hard bound book. This is an exact reprint of the original book. There are a limited number of books available. The book starts with the journey of John Hathorn and his wife, Elizabeth Chalmers, as they leave Bally Bay, County Monaghan, Ireland, on the Brigantine Chichester for America. John and Elizabeth arrived at Charleston, SC, on Christmas Day 1767 and settled in what is now Winnsboro, Fairfield Co., SC. They had with them eight of their nine children. The children were Adam, James, John Jr., Robert, Joseph, Benjamin, Mary, and Elizabeth. Their oldest Child, Margaret, remained in Ireland. One chapter is devoted to the daughters of John and Elizabeth and their descendants. There is a chapter for each son. There are over 9800 descendants and spouses included in this compilation. They cover this country from North to South and East to West. There are doctors, lawyers, nurses, bankers, tradesmen, actresses, secretaries, housewives, athletes, politicians, cowboys, good guys, and bad guys. The book is written in family line format. It descends family lines starting with each child of John and Elizabeth as they married into the Montgomery, Bell, Bradford, Cameron, Gibson, Greene, Ellis, Hurst, Neel, Davis, Adams, Johnson, and other allied families, ending with babies born in the year 2000.
