Looking for information on Edward Bruce Hartwell, b. about 1849 in NY, wife's name Rose or Rosa. Moved to Wahpeton, Richland Co., ND January 1, 1880. Trying to find Rice/Hartwell relationship. In a signed, sworn, notarized deposition 11/9/1892 concerning James Cyrus Rice (born Syracuse NY either 1806 or 1817): "He is an uncle to my wife and his mother was my grandfather's sister." Apparently Rose/Rosa Hartwell was a Rice descendant, and James' mother was probably a Hartwell.
