I came across an entry in the Coventry,RI Town Records warning Joseph Hanks and family out of town in Feb.1775: Joseph,age 31,wife Elizabeth and daughter Deborah "transients" questioned by town council Joseph stated his father was born in East Town and moved to Pembroke,all in Massachusetts.Joseph was born in Pembroke.His father enlisted and died in service(french indian war?)At age 17 Joseph moved to Middle Berry with Tilson Ripley until age 21 but was not indentured or apprenticed to him.Has not lived more than 1 year at any one place since.
