My family is looking for background information about a Thomas Hanks of Warren County, NC. We are trying to find out if he is out of Hampshire County or surrounding counties in Virginia now what is called (Mineral, West Virginia). This is my grandmother's grandfather. Her name is Mary Ruth Hanks Henderson of Mecklenburg County, VA. She recalls her grandfather (Thomas Hanks) indicated to her that he was a cousin to Abraham Lincoln's mother (Nancy Hanks). We are trying to complete our family history book and maybe welcome new family if they are around.
