I am researching a line of Wrights out of Brunswick Co. VA in mid to late 1700s. Reuben Wright & Johanna Gilbert marr in 1798, Sussex Co. Va. Reuben was a M-E minister as was his son, James, my 3rd gr grandfather. Reuben & wife's son, James Wright, marr Lucinda McComas in 1830, Rush Co. IN. Their youngest daughter (out of 9 children), Sarah Jane, b 1842, Jasper Co. IL, marr a Clawson & then a Millard F. Martin & moved to Wilson Co. KS where she died in 1932. Sarah Jane was marr to a Geo Shoemaker at the time of her death. The guest list for Sarah Jane Shoemaker's funeral in Neodesha, KS, lists a "Lola Wright." Lola is evidently the wife of a Roy Wright, b 1907, son of Geo E. Wright & Nora Belle Osborn. Geo is the son of Elisha Wright, b 1845, IA who marr Margaret Newland. Both of the possible parents of an Elisha Wright, who fits this description, have HANKS mothers. Is this Elisha the son of John Dunham Wright or Charles Wright?? Thank you to anyone who can help me determine how my line of Wrights from VA could tie in to the above line from CT. Or, where they all just friends from the same county in KS?
