There are 14 Handscombs in my family group. We all live in or around Merthyr Tydfil in South Wales although the family lived in London at the end of the 19th century after moving there from the country. My family seems to come from Melbourne & Meldreth in Bedfordshire and John Hanscomb in around 1750 is as far as we can go. His daughter Deborah had two sons but never married their father. They kept the name after John Pett married Deborah - a narrow escape. We have reached a point now where money needs to be thrown at the problem to make any progress so any help would be good.
