Hi June:

You didn't give a lot of details, like birth years & such, but your York, PA connection caught my attention. I am also researching this area, not sure my Hamme connection will help you.

2 of my great aunts married into the Hamme family of York, PA (brothers) in the early 1900's. I am trying to track their children. I have the following:

1. Laura King b.25 Jan 1887, Fivepoints (Adams Co.), PA, d.29 Apr 1953, m. Harry E. Hamme of York, PA.

2. Evelyn King, b.15 Feb 1891, York, PA, m. Walter S. Hamme. They later moved to Brownsville, PA.

Both are mentioned in my ggrfather's obit dated 03 Mar 1930. I do not have Evelyn's date of death, but she is listed in my grfather's obit from 1961 while Laura was not. {Actually Mrs. Walter S. Hamme is listed & I may have gotten the sister's mixed up as to who married who, working off of my grfather's notes.}

I too have a Miller connection. One of their older sisters married a Miller, but I don't have a first name for him.

3. Edna King b. 10 Apr 1880, Danville, Ill., d.03 Dec 1963. She is listed in my grfather's obit as Mrs. Edna K. Miller of Topeka, Kansas. Edna was still at home and single when her father died in 1930.

These girls are 3 of the 8 children of George Milton King, b.07 Jul 1849/50, Franklin Co., PA, d.01 Mar 1930 and Jennie Elizabeth Boose King, b.01 Jul 1852, Mechanicsburg, PA, d.05 Apr 1917. George & Jennie moved to IL in the 1880's and were back in PA in time for Laura's birth eventually settling in York, where my dad grew up. George was a Civil War Vet who served in Co. "C", 79th Pennsylvania Infantry Reg.
