My ggrandfather was Bela Holliday or Halladay. He was probably born in 1797 in MA. He founded the town of Andover, Allegany, NY. in 1820 he was in Alfred, Allegany, NY. Elijah Holliday was also there, along with two Job Hollidays. There are several people researching this family - look on Rootsweb message boards. They are descended from different children of Bela. None of us has benn able to find out who Bela's parents were. Maybe they were in Vermont; several liely prospects, but no proof.
