The "habitation Frères" as it was spelled in french is today part of a sprawling neighborhood of the city of Petion-Ville (part of greater Port-au-Prince). In the late 1800's, it was the property of haitian president BOISROND CANAL. Habitation Frères was a sugar plantation during colonial times and after the independance produced sugar cane for rhum manufacturing.
I am not aware if there is any descendants of the Frères family living in Haiti today.
