My understanding is that my great, great grandfather was named Jean Philippe Serpent and may have been from Guadeloupe. He came to Hati and at some point dropped the Serpent surname which gave rise to the Philippe families in Haiti. I am researching my origins. If anyone has information, please contact me. Patricia
