Would appreciate any information on the following line:

Samuel Grose, one of my wifeís sixth-great grandfathers, and his wife were in Greenwich Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania as early as 9-15-1790, where the birth or baptism of their child Jacob was recorded at Zion Lutheran Church. Samuel and family listed in the Berks County, Pennsylvania census that year in Greenwich Township with two males under age 16. Their neighbor was Adam Gensel, a Revolutionary War soldier and weaver who married Philipina Elisabetha Classmeyer and later settled in Catawiss, PA. He was likely a brother of Samuelís wife, Mary Gensel. Mary could have been the daughter of Johann Valentine Gaenssal (1739/1790-1800) and Maria Catharine Petri of Berks County and the granddaughter of Jacob Gaenssal (1710/?) of the same county. Samuel might have been the son of Jacob and Susanna Gross. A birth for a Samuel Gross was recorded at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lancaster, Pennsylvania on 2-28-1767. According to census records, Samuelís son, William, was born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania in 1799.
Samuel and his family came from Berks County about 1800 with their five sons to Crab bottom, Pendleton County, Virginia (now West Virginia), where they bought a farm. They later bought 200 acres in the Cedar Creek District along the Jackson River for $420 on 11/1/1812. They sold the land to their son Jacob in 1818. A newspaper clipping pertaining to William, their fifth son, stated that Samuel took part in the War of 1812 and was granted 600 acres on Line Creek in Nicholas County (now West Virginia). Samuel was a pioneer of Nicholas County and settled on Line Creek near the Koontz brothers about 1814.
Samuel was a saddler and farmer and had two sons, Jacob and Samuel, who worked the trade with him. Samuel Jr. was a harness maker who settled near Kesslerís Cross Lanes in West Virginia and died in Summersville, Nicholas County, West Virginia. Jacob was also active in buying and selling properties. Jacobís will was probated in Allegheny County. Four of Samuel Seniorís sons were farmers--John, William, James, and Jefferson. James and Jefferson are buried in Grose Cemetery at Line Creek in Nicholas County. Samuel was a good farmer as well as a saddler. He was in Nicholas County when it was organized and continued there until his death. Some of his sons married and continued there and were industrious citizens. Samuelís sons, Henry and William, lived near Hot Springs at "Grose Switch," now known as Bacova Junction. William is buried in Legg Cemetery in Panther Mountain, Nicholas County, West Virginia. Samuelís son, George, is buried in Spring Garden, Roan County, West Virginia.
The Grose name is of German origin.
Samuel and his wife are buried in the Grose cemetery.
