i tried to email you but without success. my gggrandmother's name was ann entwistle. she gave her father's name as jonathan grimshaw on her marriage certificate..a bricklayer. she and samuel entwistle were married in 1850 in bury lancashire and shortly came to the us. i know nothing further on her except the family bible records her as being from leeds...she says that she worked in the mills as a young girl..and that their named was originally spelled grempshire...as she made a mark on her marriage certificate i don't know how that spelling was achieved...i have found several family trees for jonathan grimshaw with a daughter named ann but i don't know if it is the correct family..ann was born in 1818 according to her tombstone at the red cemetery(maries co mo) but on the 1860 census she is listed at 35...she had one surviving child named margaret...hope to hear from you. jim in san antonio |
