Since I posted this I found out that the guy that was hanged was a Jesuit Martyr born in Lincolnshire 1636 Father Ireland was executed at Tyburn Jan. 1679 eldest son of William Ireland of Crofton Hall, Yorkshire. He was an innocent man he could prove his whereabouts at the time he was reported to have been lingering about the castle but by popular demand of the angered Londoners they marched him and Mr. Grove to the gallows and hung him anyway. Pickering was hung too.
