I'm certainly no Gower scholar. I believe Elizabeth Gower b. 1767/71 Brunswick Co., VA (daughter of Abel Gower Sr. and Mary Robertson) married James Russell (b. 1762 d. 27 Jul 1819) son of George Russell. James served in the North Carolina militia in the Revolutionary War and is believed to have been the last man to sign the Cumberland Compact. He is buried in Gower's Chapel, Davidson Co., TN. My Grandson's link is through daughter Pharaba Russell 10 Oct 1786- 21 Sep 1866 who married George Sugg Allen. I don't have a list of the George Russell family handy. I can learn much from you!
