Following on from my previous message, I must thank Bert for responding so quickly. It's great to know I'm not just talking to myself! I should have explained that I have tracked the Gowers down on Census records but I am hoping that the names I posted will link into someone else's tree. I have also listed James' parents (Thomas Gower and Sarah Read) on a separate posting, as before James was married the family settled in Slapton in Buckinghamshire. Any branches out there? A little leaf would do..... Lynda
