James George, Jr.
James George, Jr. was born in England July 15, 1818. His first wife, Mary, was born in Canada Dec. 8, 1818. In the fall of 1838 they left Canada and came to live in Clinton County, New York until the fall of 1850. They moved by boat from New York to Sheboygan County, Wisconsin.
Their children were:
James, born in New York March 6, 1840, died Jan. 15, 1845.
Nelson, born in New York Feb. 18, 1842, died in the army at Nashville, TN, Feb. 5, 1863.
Moses, born in New York April 21, 1844, Died in Wisconsin June 2, 1861.
Mary Elizabeth, born in New York Nov. 14, 1847. Married Gardner Warden in 1862. He was killed in the army. A son, Nelson G Warden, was born to her Mar. 4, 1863. She later married G.E. Hunter.
Sarah Jane, born in Wisconsin April 1, 1851, died June 6, 1861.
James first wife, Mary, died August 21, 1854.
Second Wife of James George: Judith Ann Reynolds, born in the state of New York Mar. 27, 1834. They were married in Wisconsin Dec. 7, 1854.
Children of James and Judith Ann:
Esther Louisa, born July 18, 1858, died Feb. 3, 1862.
James Lincoln, born Sept. 17, 1860, in Wisconsin.
Lotty, born Nov. 18, 1863, died Nov. 30, 1863.
Cora Ella, born May 29, 1866.
Alvin, born Mar. 6, 1868, died July 17, 1869.
James and wife Judith separated in Wisconsin in the winter of 1870.
Third wife of James George, Jr.: Laurinda Higbee, born June 15, 1841, in Catteraugus County, New York. They moved to Tennessee in the spring of 1870.
Children of James and Laurinda:
Carrie Iona, born March 8, 1871, Fentress County, TN. Married Elsworth Tompkins Jan. 5, 1890. Carrie Iona died Feb. 10, 1950, in Scott County, TN.
Thomas F, born May 8, 1873, in Fentress County, TN.
William Henry, born May 9, 1880, in Fentress County, TN.
Laurinda Higbee George died June 13, 1903, in Scott County, TN.
James George, Jr., died Sept. 29, 1908, in Scott County, TN.
