I have resolved my problems. I tried all the procedures sent to me by a Genealogy.com technical person. Actually, none of them helped, but when I went in and turned off (temporarily) all but the absolutely necessary programs/files in my STARTUP....and then tried to go onto Easy Tree, an error message came up explaining there was a compatibility problem, and did I want to report the error to Microsoft. I said yes. I then decided to put everything back on the Startup programs so everything was like when I began. Just for fun, I went back into Generations and tried to do a report. It worked. Then I was also able to export my Generations files over to my new Family Tree Maker with ease. I love Family Tree maker so far. I did have a problem getting my notes to export, so am working on that.
I can send you what the tech. person sent to me and you just may do something right like I did...ha!
I believe the whole problem came when I got my new computer, which came with Microsoft XP Home Edition....and Service Pack II soon after that. Therein lies the incompatibility (I believe).
