I am successfully using Generations v8.5a on a Toshiba laptop running Windows 7 64-bit. Among the many programs and data I had to install on the new computer, I do not remember any difficulty in installing Generations. I did have problems with an old Epson flat-bed scanner and a Prime Film slide scanner, where I received a message basically saying they would not run on the 64-bit system. The computer came with a disc containing a 32-bit version of Windows 7, saying that this offers 'the highest level of compatability with application software of every kind'. I did wonder whether to install this so I could use the scanners, but having spent some considerable time installing programs and data, decided to look into updating my flat-bed instead, as installing the 32-bit version would put me back at square one.
If Tony is to trial a 32-bit version of Windows 7, this will not really help, as presumably computers have the 64-bit version installed as standard, as mine did.
