Looks like there are TWO people posting with the name Nancy Myers. My only post to this forum was on 3/4/09 - Nancy Myers (ID *****8289). I have tried to switch my name to Nan Myers, so we will see if it takes.
I am trying to determine if there is much change between version 5.2, which I have, but is buggy on XP, and the latest 8.5a still available from TWR Computing. Since they don't have a free trial download, or even any screenshots, it is hard to tell without purchasing.
I am hoping someone might email me a screen shot of the main family page of the newest version. Specifically, what I like about Gen 5.2 is that we could customize a bit the fields that are displayed for the main couple. Sure, the font is small, but I have it showing Birth, Baptism, Death, Burial, Occupation, Education, Residence, and first 2 lines of the notes. The layout of this screen is so clean and efficient. Showing the children buttons below and the parents above. With the button for marriage just above the main couple. But what I REALLY appreciate is that I can see the relationship of the main couple to a selected individual in my file and also the last modified date.
I have tried most of the other programs out there in the past 2 weeks and haven't found any I like better. I liked Genbox, except for the fact of not having this modified date, which is a must have for me. But I have to switch or else keep a computer with Windows 98 specifically for genealogy, which is not an option. So if anyone from TWR computing is checking this forum, I would appreciate some additional info. I am not going to buy without knowing what I am going to get. At least one screenshot of the main family page would be great.
