I've got 8.5a and have loved Easy Tree for about five years. I hate FTM mainly because of the design of the Family page (on Easy Tree it's such a breeze to go straight to a child, or a parent or a sibling or a particular field, whereas in FTM you have to click this button, get a new screen, then select that person, then go to another screen). Plus scrolling down for children in FTM really is tiring.

I just got a new video card and the drivers (I am assuming) are keeping me from every entering in the full names (I have had this problem every once and a while as well as some folks being turned into Zombies and totally losing the data on those persons and the links to who their parents, spouses, children were). I really liked Easy Tree, but since it looks like there's no one responsible for it anymore or interested in keeping it updated and conflict-free, it's time to move on. I started out with Generations, and don't want to go, but what should I use now? I am a grad student and don't have much money (that's why I first bought an old copy of Generations). I really want my notes brought over intact as well as the formatting. Advice anyone?

Thanks,
Dave Webb
