At this time I see no connection -- but the familiar names of Thomas, Frank, etc. were used in my Gatton's too .My William F. GATTON ca 1824 KY - 1885 IL named a son Thomas Frank (always Uncle Frank to his family who knew him before his death in 1936). I have not been able to locate William F. GATTON in 1850 census. It is quite possible the initial F was for Frank or Franklin. Sounds logical to me. Thanks .
