I find some of the post to which this is a reply confusing. I can find a William Gary, born 1665 and died 1716. What I cannot find is any evidence that his wife was Sarah Cate. I cannot really even determine that she was a Sarah at all. I wonder if this is some confusion over this William Gary (1665-1716), and his great grandson, William Gary (1740-1788), who was known to have married a Sarah CATE.
Also, this earlier William Gary left a will in Prince George County, Virginia, not Prince Charles County. I believe this will does not name his wife, although her name MAY be found on the statement of inventory.
If it really is the case that these are the same William Gary, and "Prince Charles" was a simple error, and the earlier William Gary's wife really was Sarah Cate, then I would like to know how it is known that her name was CATE.
Moreover, I have another request. Sarah CATE Gary later married Henry Tench, and was involved in a lawsuit in Prince George October court 1812, as Sarah Tench, widow of Henry Tench. Other folks named are other CATE folks, VAUGHAN, MURPHY, BONNER, other GARY folks, BURGE, and a bunch of MEACHAM vs. Joshua Young and Betsy his wife (formerly CATE).
This suit looks like a "friendly" one. David Vaughan married Betsy Bonner, and Thomas Murphy married Susannah Bonner; the other Bonner mentioned was George Bonner. I am trying to figure out the connections of the BONNERs. I know that Nancy (aka "Ann") Cate married Henry Bonner. I am looking for BONNER information, and if you have some, then please let me hear from you :)
