Hi Mr Gaddy
I have found some information since I last emailed you. I found Thomas M Abel and Lucinda Ray Abel listed in the 1900 Fayette co Al census living on rented property. They lived in the Glen Allen Al area. I searched the land records and it looks like they might have lived on property owned by the Whiteheads who apparently owned a lot of property in that area. Thomas M Abel was in the Civil war in the same company as a Whitehead so he was probaly working for him or living on his land. Their daughter Rosa married a Whitehead 1900 and tehy later went to Mississippi. I found Thomas M Able listed in the 1900 Choctaw co Ok census living with the Rone family. I don't know why he was there. He was listed as a widow. Lucinda Ray Abel died shortly after 1900 but I do not know when she died or where she was buried. I did not know Missouri was listed in the 1900 Fayette co Al census. I have been trying to find when Solomon Ray,father of Lucindan Ray Abel died. I believe he died in the 1870's. His wife Jane Church Ray was listed in the 1880 Winston co Al census living with her oldest son Silas Benjamin Ray near Falls City Al. I found an obit for Silas Benjamin Ray and it said he died in 1885 and was buried in "the Grove" but I do not know if that was a cemetery or a church or what it was. The obit was in a Jasper Al newspaper so I don't know if it was in Winston co or Walker co Al. His land was about one mile north of the county line. He was a menber of the Hermon Baptist Church which I believe started out in Winston co Al then near Curry Al in Walker co Al. If you know where the Grove was please let me know. Thanks, Ross
