Hello Cousin Penny. The book was privately printed, and available from Mr. & Mrs William C. Gaddy, Jr. at the same address I gave in the notice of his illness (e-mail address BLGDY@aol.com). The book has quite a few of the Georgia connections.
Generally speaking, descendants of George and Sherwood Gaddy spread from Bedford County, VA (west of Lynchburg) westward into KY and beyond. Thomas, thought to be their brother, went to NC in 1760. Of his children, Thomas (Thomas II) settled in Anson County, NC, after eight years of service in the Rev War. His younger brother, Ithamar, settled in Marion District of South Carolina. His descendants include a number who went to GA. Thomas's family included several who went into Western NC, then across to TN, GA, and beyond. Gaddys had aleady gotten to AR ad MO by the time of the Civil War, and a few served the Union. After the war, many made their way to TX. These are generalizations, but a point of departure in fitting your branch into the "main tree." If you can run your line back three or four generations, there's a good possibility of a tie-in, for the book has something like 7,000 names. Happy hunting.
