I do not have the answers to your questions, but here are some things to consider:

Excerpts from the service record of J. W. T. Parlier, who joined company G (Captain Leak's Company) of the 1st Georgia Cavalry:

"Company Muster-in Roll [...] Camp Morrison near Cartersville, Ga., May 3, 1862."

"Joined for duty and enrolled [...] Camp Morrison, Bartow Co Ga"

This record suggests that Camp Morrison was in Bartow County. However, small errors and inconsistencies are quite common in the service records, so Camp Morrison may not have been in Bartow County at all.

I thought Camp Morrison may have been located on James J. Morrison's personal property, so I decided to look into this.

The 1860 US census shows a man named "Jas J Morrison," age 30, living in Georgia militia district 1075, Polk County (page 155, microfilm M653_134). I assume this is the same James J. Morrison who led the 1st Georgia Cavalry.
