Would like to hear from anybody researching WINTERS in Paulding Co. You may be able to help me. My grandfather Wadsworth's mother, Manda Tallulah Griss, was born 11-12-1871 in GA (based on tombstone, census, and death certificate). This woman seems to have materialized out of thin air on 7-28-1893 when she gave birth to my grandfather--I can find no trace of her on 1880 census when she should have been 8 or 9 years old. The clues I have: her death certificate says that her mother was a Wofford--no first names, just that her father was a Griss and her mother a Wofford. The only other clue I have is that my father remembered that she had a sister who married a Winters and lived near Dallas--he couldn't remember her sister's given name. Does anybody have a Mrs. Winters, maiden name Griss, whose mother was a Wofford????
