Bob I have been out of touch for some time due to some health problems. I wonder if the following has any bearing on your family history. John Hamilton FORDIE b. 1851 Tranent m Janet WALLACE b. 1854 at Berwick on Tweed at Edinburgh 19th September 1874. Issue from the marriage which I have identified are: Hamilton John FORDIE b. 1876 at Edinburgh., Paul Wallace FORDIE b. 1879 and James Hood Smith FORDIE b. 1880 Hamilton married Ada LENNIE at Edinburgh on 8th December 1905. Ada was the illegitimate daughter of Williamina LENNIE. Ada was born Edinburgh 5th August 1874. There was only one child from this marriage, Mona Lennie Hamilton FORDIE b. 1907. Mona Married Jack Stevenson at Edinburgh in 1933. Mona and Jack both died at Perth, Western Australia. I am in contact with Mona & Jacks only child, Ada.
