My Goddins were also known as Godwin in some records and they lived in Holmes County, Florida. Reddick Goddin and wife1)Ellender (last name Callahan ?) and 2)wife Elizabeth (Braxton ?) had children 1)Pallis who m. John Forehand 2)James Wiley who married Elizabeth Prestwood 3) Wesley 4) John 5) Josephine Barbara who married first Joseph Etheringon and 2nd Andrew Jackson Mitchell 6)Nancy who married William Berreau Bland 7) Patsey 8) Penny 9) Fred 10) Mack. One daughter married Steve Cooley. I don't have all my info with me but one child married Simmons, two married Curry, one married Hall and one Thomas. Also Wesley may have married a widow Harrison. Some of them are buried in the Old Mt. Zion Cemetery. Some descendants live in the area of Westville, Bonifay, and Ponce DeLeon, Florida. Josephine moved with her second husband to Milton, Santa Rosa County, Florida. Some of the Blands moved to Pensacola, Escambia County Florida. I think Pallis Goddin Forehand had a daughter Lettice who moved to Dothan, Houston County Alabama.I would like to find where Reddick Goddin and his wives are buried and prove the last names of his wives. I also want to know which children were born to each wife. I have checked the Holmes Co Censuses for 1850,1860, 1880, 1885. I don't have 1870 and it isn't on line. The marriages are not all on the Holmes County Genweb Page. I think the Thomas family in to which the Forehands, Bland and Goddin families married are shown as mulatto in Walton Co 1860 Census and the 1885 Holmes Co Florida Census. Could there be a separate book for marriages of people of color? Also my family said there was Indian in this line and would those marriages be separate or not recorded? I have tried to check Jackson County and Washington County and Walton County and have found some of the marriages. Other connected nammes are Cooey, Mayo, Lambert.
