I just found your message. I am glad that you are searching too. Several years ago, Charles, Deborah and I (virginia aka. Gingy Mitchell Hutcheson), Your Uncle Frank's daughter went to the old Mitchell cemetary. I thought then that we should mark our Grandfather's grave and would still like to do that. Porter's wife Barbara gave us a tour of her home and the Mitchell heirlooms that she has. I know that she and Porter had done a great deal of research on the Mitchell family but at that time did not have proof of our family's lineage. We know he was one of the Mitchell's of Virginia but not which family he was descended from. The information that you are looking for may reside in the Thomasville Geneaological Library. There is a unpoublished book (Book of Rememberances) there about the Mitchell families in that area.
Our Great Grandmother's name was Sarah Virginia Scott, our Grandmother's name was Ruby Claire Smith (the Smith family in Quincy was quite prominent at one time). I have other copied information from our Aunt Virginia and Aunt Alice. I will be happy to share what I have with you.

I would love to hear from you. Do you know what has happened to Bill's daughter,Alice? I have lost touch will all of the cousins(what a shame).
I guess you know that all of the last generation is gone. I know that Uncle Bill's son Billy is gone as is Aunt Virginia's daughter Dianne. My Mother passed away at almost 95 years of age while we were still living in GA. Grandchildren brought us to Franklin. Our daughter Carrie and husband John Milazo live here with their little girls, Katie 8 and Sarah 6. My Brother Frank, lives in Roswell GA with his wife. Cousin Gene Patronis is still living (I think) in the Atlanta area as is our son John Hutcheson and his wife Chris.
I hope the years have been kind to you.
I loved your Dad and Mom, they were such loving and caring people who loved all of the brothers and sisters and kept us all together while he was still alive. I remember all of the good times we had at your homes in Metcalf.
I hope to hear from you.
Your cousin ,
