The Hopkins Cemetery at the reputed site of Hephzibah was been posted on the web in 2006 as the Woodbery-Womack Cemetery: http://fl-genweb.org/gadsden/WoodberyWomackCemetery_Index.html I'm interested in it as a possible burial site of my 3-great grandfather Levi Butler... but like you, so far have been unable to locate any of its records. Many of it's members soon joined a church called Piedmont started at Raft Swamp just west of today's hamlet of Calvary in southern Decatur (now Grady) County, Georgia, in 1828. Piedmont no longer exists except as a cemetery and was in terrible condition when I was a child but has now been "fixed up" considerably; however it did last as an organized body at least till 1928 when it published a centennial memoir and its minutes still exist and I suspect that those may lie in several nearby repositories. I believe that I saw a copy in the Roddenberry Memorial Library in Cairo though I happen to have copied a few pages from the Thomasville History and Fine Arts Library in Thomasville. Both Churches were interconnected with the Tired Creek Primitive Baptist Church a bit further east in Grady County which continues to thrive. Anyway, if anyone comes up with any records of Hephzibah I would appreciate a "heads up".
