I am requesting information on Eau Gallie back in the 1970s. I am writing a biography on a man who lived there from 1970 - 1975 at 1420 Avocado St. He was a WWII vet who has the distinction of being one of the official first 48 paratroopers in the US Army.
In the brief bio I am writing I wish to say a few words about his time in retirement in Eau Gallie. His name was Joseph Peters. He was a well-respected member of the community. His retirement passion was fishing the brackish intercostal waters, often catching record fish.
His brother told me he was known by everyone there and he was the manager of the small bar / eatery which was the focal point of town. The brother did not know the name of this bar/eatery but spoke of it like it was THE prominent one there. Would you happen to have any idea which one this might be. If not, would you happen to know an old-timer there who might know and I could contact?
Any help would be deeply appreciated.
