As of about 3 hours ago, I am looking at a marriage certificate, from Oakland County, MI, that has Milo Fessenden marrying Polly M. Thompson on 7 Oct. 1850. (I research this Thompson line and she is my gr gr grand-father's sister.) NOW, I find that in 1860 M. O (or C) Fessenden is living in Cass County, MI, next to Polly's brother Joseph and his wife, and Polly's father, Robert Thompson, brother Smith and sister Ellen. I scratch my head and see that Polly, appears to be 24 (and she was 21 when she married Milo in 1850) and (!) it lists she was born in Indiana. SO-I dig around and find that Meal O. Fessenden married a Polly E. Bell on 27 Feb. 1859. Polly E. was born in Indiana. This would explain the Indiana birth place-as my Polly was born in NY, and the fact that his son Willard is either 7 or 9 (can't quite tell.) and the baby Edgar is 3 months old. I've seen two family trees posted on Ancestry.com that spell Milo's name Mial or Mials. They have him married to both Polly Thompson and Polly Bell with approximate dates. One appears to be close but the one for Polly Thompson is way off. Does anyone know anything on Milo and his pair of Polly wives? I'll share what I can and do appreciate any help, in advance. Kathy |
