Thank you for answering my message. The William Fennell(my g-g grandfather) whom I'm referring to was on the 1870 census in the town of Weymouth, Norfolk County, Mass. His age was listed as 53 and his wife Margaret aged 50, both were born in Ireland. They had one child in Massachusetts and that was Edward aged 14 (my great-grandfather). I cannot find a record of them on any census until 1900, where I found My g-grandfather,Edward J, aged 44, his wife Mary also 44. They had 5 children named William, Edward, (my grandfather), Margaret, Mary and James. I know that this is the right family because I remember my grand-uncle James coming to visit us in Brooklyn, NY where I actually grew up. I only remember my grand-uncle James so, you can imagine my shock when my wife found the 1870 census with all of the fennell names on it. I found my g-grandfather Edward, on the 1910 and 1920 census as well. My g-grandfather was 54 in 1910 and 63 in 1920. After that, there is no census record of him, so I assumed he passed away. My grandfather and dad also show up in the 1910 and 1920 census for Brockton, Mass and Brooklyn, New York. What I don't know is what happened to my grand-aunt Mary & Margaret and grand-uncle William. I do know that my grandfather passed away when I was a baby and my grand-uncle James passed away in the 1940s in New York City. I don't see any John Fennell connected to my record, however, I am missing the grand-aunt, uncle pieces of William, Mary & Margaret. So, if you can link that piece of information to your lineage, let me know. Thanks again....this is great stuff! Ed Fennell |
