Hello,
I have worked on several of the lines on Favre's. Hancock Co burned in the 1850's, over the years records have been either lost to the elements or even checked out and not returned.

The 1860 census for Hancock Co is lost too. There were probable reasons some people weren't listed on the remaining census schedules. The 1860 Hancock tax roll can help place families in the county.

Since some of the records are gone or where never there in the first place, the church registers should provide help. That is one source you can use. Since you copied the entries, study the witnesses and sponsors. Posalie's god mother was Celestine Favre.

Also Jerry Heitzman did a book on the Favre family. Several others have also published materials that may be helpful.

Not everyone had a tombstone and many who did, their stones were lost over the years.

I hope to have a number of corrections to several Favre lines finished by the end of the year and put into print.

If you would to contact me, I would be glad to speak with you. Anne
