andrew ewan/ewing was married to issabella grieg ,nov1847,fife scotland were their family resided in auchtederren .their son alexander,married to mary pirie kemp was my great grandfather he &mary immigrated to australia abbt1879?&set up cane farms arround he tweed river area,alexander is said to have been a policeman in edinburgh before immigrating to aus;issabella grieg was from banff';wanting to know about the name change and any connections out there .my grandfather james kemp ewing was a twin to florance ewing they were two of 7 chilren & they were born in 1893 at home in tweed river I am finding it hard to find records of ths family in the tweed area ,wondering if because alexander was a policeman,and shipped to australia for safety?????,who knows?looking forward to hearing from fellow researchers .....regards heather pointer
