Corona Genealogical Society presents its 3rd annual "Stones, Bones, & Ancient Tomes," a Family History month event geared to the local community to introduce people to family history and the society. Co-sponsored by the Corona Public Library, it is to be held Sat., 17 October 2009, 10am-4pm at the Library, 650 S. Main St., Corona, CA. An exhibit hall with displays pertaining to family history, including tables/consultants devoted to DNA, Jewish, African American, and Hispanic research; scrapbooking, photo restoration, music and how it relates to our ancestors, World Vital Records, the 2010 census, and items of local historical interest; also a hands-on help center on doing internet research and more. 1/2-hour classes will be conducted throughout the day, dealing with the value of belonging to the Corona Genealogical Society, researching at the local Family History Center, using the Library's resources, World Vital Records, beginning genealogy, and the 2010 census. Door prizes and lots of "freebies" will round out the options for those who attend.
