Austin High School in southern Indiana will be the site of the Indiana Genealogical Society’s annual conference on Saturday, April 1, 2006, featuring Diane VanSkiver Gagel. Austin is in Scott County, 40 miles north of Louisville and 80 miles south of Indianapolis, off Exit 33 on Interstate 65. The Scott County Genealogical Society will be the local host, and will have a special lock-in at their research rooms from 5 to 8 pm on Friday, March 31. Lecture topics will include land records, orphan trains, and aspects of research in Ohio and Kentucky. Registration is $25 for IGS members and $30 for non-members, with an option for a box lunch for an additional $8.
