Irish Heritage Tour Do you have Irish ancestors? Have you researched them back to Ireland? Or are you stumped and need some help with your research? Then join me on a HERITAGE/RESEARCH TRIP TO IRELAND APRIL 22-30, 2006 Tour starts in Dublin where you can take a half day tour of the city, with visits to Trinity College, home of the Book of Kells and St. Patrick’s Cathedral. See O’Connell Street, Europe’s longest street. Or you can start your research right away at the National Library of Ireland or the National Archives. Both places have many resources available plus they offer a free Genealogy Service where you may speak with a professional genealogist about possible resources related to your family history. We will spend 3 days in Dublin researching or there are many optional tours available if you or your traveling partner want to do other things. After departing from Dublin we travel by motorcoach to the city of Wexford, here we shall visit Dunbrody. We will go back in time and follow the footsteps of a group of famine emigrants bound for New York. Experience the sights, smells, and sounds of a wooden sailing ship, full of people crossing the ocean in the authentically recreated interior of an 1845 sailing vessel. Perhaps your ancestor left during the famine time and you shall see what they faced to come to America. We then continue our drive into the beautiful Kingdom of Kerry and to our hotel in Killarney. We then will experience some of the heritage of Ireland by visiting the beautiful Ring of Kerry and mix with the locals in Killarney. Other sites you can choose to visit are Cliffs of Moher and Blarney Castle. We will visit the Bunratty Folk Park and Castle which depicts life in Ireland in time’s past. We also will visit the Cobh Heritage Musuem and the restored Victorian Cobh Railway Station where the Titanic made its last port of call. Cost is $990.00 pp dbl. land. Airfare from Chicago is $409 rd trip plus tax. You can get your own airfare if that is easier. For more information please email me at custom_heritagetravel@yahoo.com Hope to hear from you.
