Just wanted to give you an update about our Heritage and Genealogy Tour coming up in October.
We are finalizing a few final details and have actually upgraded one of the hotels. I have been in touch with Mr Jelinic, head of Matica the Croatian Cultural organization. Matica is arranging for history/genealogy speakers for our group in Split and Zagreb. In addition Sanja Frigan and Miro Caic will be joining us for either a dinner or breakfast in Zagreb. Also I have been in contact with the head of the National Archives in Zagreb, where we will be given a tour and orientation regarding what records they hold and what services they offer. One very special treat will be our dinner at St Thersia's Orphange in Zagreb where 35 children live and are cared for by Carmelite Sisters... I understand the Sisters make a fabulous dinner! So you can see that not only is the tour well "thought out" but I have been working to make this the very best tour possible.
Our group is turning out to be an interesting and unique group, with people from CA, WA, IA, MI, OH, PA, NJ, DC, TX and SC. While most are Croatian we will have an old friend of mine who works for a think tank in DC, who majored in Austro-Hungarian history. Kollanders commented how nice everyone in our group was and how easy they were to work with.
While we achieved our minimum number of travlers quite some time ago, we do have a few places remaining for anyone who would like to sign on to the tour. So if you are up to having joining an interesting and fun tour you may want to consider joining us in October
