The Friends of Genealogy's Fourth Annual Workshop in Memory of Barbara Stenger Berditt, "Getting Beyond the Courthouse Door" will be held at The Newberry Library. In this all-day workshop, Michael John Neill presents four talks: "Researching the Entire Family," "An Introduction to the Courthouse," "Court Records," and "Land Records." Neill, an experienced courthouse, library and archive researcher, is on staff at the Genealogical Institute of Mid America and writes a weekly column for the Ancestry Daily News. Tony Hoskins, former Local and Family History Reference Librarian at the Newberry, is now head of Genealogy, History, and Archives at the Sonoma County Library.
