I'm hoping someone will help with identifying which of the following marriages is correct.

I'm searching for the marriage of Ann Ballard. Here's the problem, Ann was born Agnes Doody in 1878 Birmingham and four years before her parents married. But I believe she may have called herself Ann the name of her mother. Her mother Ann Doody married Samuel Ballard and Agnes seems to have taken the Ballard name. I've traced her up until 1891 when she was living with her parents and siblings in Aston, Birmingham.

Their are two possible marriages between 1891 and 1901 and within the Birmingham area. The first was in 1894 in Kings Norton to either Albert Edward Smart or John Alfred Swatkins. The second was in 1896 in Aston to either Thomas David Turvey or Charles Johnson.

I've been unable to trace Agnes Doody Ballard anywhere after 1891 (there doesn't appear to be a death for her) and it is now a guess that she used the name Ann.

Could someone please help and look at the 1901 census for the names?

Thank you
Fe
