Thanks for correcting my spelling, just got carried away, but when he became a naturalized citizen it stated hie date of arrival in the US,as 25 Nov 1857, now could Charles be mistaken on his date of arrival SURE. but when he did a disposition for his Civil War Pension fund, he also stated the Port of Entry, New Orleans,so after checking the only ship to dock in New Orleans on 25 Nov 1857, was the D. H. Watjen, of course there may have been others, but have found no record.
he stated he was born in Bergstemmem, Germany not too far from HANOVER, because of his Civil War pension file we know he served in the Civil War from 18 Aug 1861 to July 1856. We are currently checking out some film (LDS)on the churchs in the town mention above, but so far no luck. again thanks for the info about the 2 Rehfeldt families, don't believe they fit into our tree.
