Indeed the Edwards pedigree has been corrupted with misinformation arising from the great Edwards genealogy scam. Primarily from the work of Helen Hinchliff, a professional genealogist and Edwards descendant, we can now say with some certainty that George Edward's parents are James Edwards and Sarah Jacobs. James was born in abt 1727 in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, the son of William Edward and Helen Law. He was brought to VA in 1740 and indentured to Rev. James Keith.
