Julie, Thank you very much for the interesting AIKEN information you have posted. Being a GORDON myself on the paternal side - I care not a bit what "clan" different groups want to "lump" people into, but historical facts like those you presented help us so much. There are too many AIKENs in this world for them to fall under the category of "Gordon". I am interested in my individual ancestors, on my maternal side, whom I feel sure came from Scotland to Northern Ireland to New England in the early 1700s. So again, many thanks for all you have posted - you've done very well by us - AIKENS (variously spelled) all.
