Your grandmother's father was Jesse Taylor Downey, b. 1867, Lawrence, Mo., died 1943, Fremont, Co. His father was Francis Downey, 1826, Warren, Kentucky. There are several trees on Francis Downey or Jesse Taylor Downey on Rootsweb or Family Search if you don't have Ancestry.com. We may be distantly related about 5 or 6 generations up the tree. I descend from James Downey, b. 1744, Litchfield, Ct.
