Charles Henry Douglas (DOB unknown, but c 1820)married in 1844. On the certificate he names his father as Charles, 6th Marquis of Queensberry. A search of the Marquis's pedigree shows that he died without a male heir, so my ancestor must have been illegitimate. By 1837 he was a lieutenant in the Royal Navy, later promoted to Commander. I am interested in any information that may lead me to his mother's name - or any information which relates to his life.
