I have tried for years to hook up my RICE family with other families in the MS/TN area once they migrated from SC. I guess no one is looking for these families - but let me give it another shot.


Descendants of Joseph Rice


Generation No. 1

       1. Joseph4 Rice (David3, David2, Rice1)1 was born April 17, 1826 in Barnwell Co, S.C., and died in Memphis, TN.. He married Mary Ann Nicholson May 18, 1854 in St. Paul's Church, Charleston, S.C., daughter of Malcolm Nicholson and Mary Avirett.

In 1870, both Joseph Rice (married to Mary Ann Nicholson who has ties to the McKay family) and Angus Nicholson McKay (married to Joseph's sister Rebecca) are living next door to one another in Hernando, DeSoto, Mississippi.
