Traditional paternity tests wouldn't be reliable, but a new type of test using ~700,000 markers called SNPs would work fine. A grandaunt/niece share about 12.5% of their DNA on the average, and this would be obvious if the two of you test at one of these three companies: http://23andMe.com Relative Finder (included as part of the product) http://familytreedna.com Family Finder (a stand-alone test) http://dna.ancestry.com/aboutDNA.aspx (currently has a very long waiting list) |
