Thank you for your prompt reply. My husband is descended from a Thomas Diggs who was the son of John and Lucy Diggs of Louisa Co., VA. Thomas was born about 1750 and married Ann Kent in Goochland Co. 9 June 1775. His father, John, died before 9 Sept. 1776, the date of the administrator's bond for the estate of John Diggs. They may have been residents of Hanover County prior to Louisa County. As you can see, I am very much interested in the name of Thomas as one of the sons of Edward Digges. Our Diggs family seems to have named the first son for the paternal grandfather.
